WHAT IS MY INTENTION FOR TODAY?

Hello my friend

The weeks are passing by and we are still in lockdown, unaware of when it will be lifted. We can’t control this and worrying about it causes stress, as a lot of us have already experienced. But stress does nothing to change the situation. So why not change the feeling of stress into a feeling of calm and joy? The best time to do this is in the morning. How we start our day is going to project how our day will be. If we start the day by reading or listening to the daily news, then we could be allowing stress to manifest … but if we start our day by setting a positive intention, then our mindset will create better feelings in our bodies. But first you have to make the choice.

ABOUT INTENTIONS

When we decide to let go of stress and choose to feel more joy we are helping our whole being - mind, body, spirit - grow healthy, make better choices and achieve goals. Stress doesn’t inspire us to do anything useful, whereas joy energises us to explore and achieve more. An intention is how you want to feel … we set intentions all the time without really knowing we are. An intention guides our thoughts and plans. When we deliberately decide on an intention it becomes our focus and allows us to stay positive. By writing down your intention you can read it when you feel discouraged or need motivation. It will keep you going especially through times like these where we feel we are not in control.

HOW TO WRITE INTENTIONS

You will only follow through with your intentions if they matter to you, so only write things that you believe and feel joy from. Saying that you will have a million dollars in your bank account is probably unrealistic. Intentions don’t have to be goal-oriented. You can use them to reset your thinking to help you be happier and more grateful for things you have. State your intention in a positive way - using negative words puts you in a poor frame of mind. Some examples are: I intend to have more fun. - I intend to overcome my anxiety. - I intend to be the most positive person I know. - I intend to learn how to play a few chords on the guitar. - I intend to be an active listener today. - I intend to become more healthy.

AND FINALLY

Once you have set your intentions in writing, think of three things you are grateful for today and feel the emotion of these for a few seconds. This helps to shift your thoughts to something positive in your life, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. By doing these small activities you will increase your happiness and rewire your brain to focus on the positives. Commit to daily practice and see the changes in your life and in your health.

My intention for today is that you receive comfort and motivation from this email. I thank you for your kind replies and comments you have been sending me. It warms my heart to be a part of your growth in positivity.

With gratitude and love
